The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is a cooperative game for 1 to 4 players. Players compete together against the odds of scenarios controlled by the game itself. Additional cards and adventures are regularly published for this Living Card Game®️, allowing players to adapt the content of this basic game to their wishes or to create their very own decks.

The new edition of the basic game contains enough game components that up to four players can play at the same time. In addition, the new edition contains at least one game set for each player card (3 copies per card). The new edition also includes new favor and burden cards as well as campaign cards that can be used to combine the base game scenarios into a campaign.
