Operation Overlord 2 - Landing on Omaha Beach

On June 6, 1944, 14,000 Allied paratroopers from the US 82nd Airborne Division landed in the hinterland of Omaha Beach and conquered the town Sainte-Mère-Église . They should secure the area until reinforcements arrive. This action became known as the beginning of the Operation Overlord .
